AADHAR BREACHES PRIVACY

View

In the world where everyone shows and tells everything, I value discretion and privacy. Aadhar card provides u with national identification and social benefits and protects us from corruption and tax evasion. In short, Aadhar is the ultimate panacea for all our social needs as a citizen of India. But does Aadhar keep our information safe?
No matter how much the government tries to encourage the circulation of Aadhar card the loopholes still exists.
It is not a valid address proof: UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority Of India) doesn’t validate Aadhar card as an address proof but still, banks continue to use it as an address proof and identity proof. Providing the address when you go to get your Aadhar card is optional thereby making it unfit as an address proof. The motto behind this is to make sure every citizen gets Aadhar card without any documents.UIDAI is Aware of the fact that Aadhar is not an address proof and hence it has clearly mentioned in Aadhar Bill as only identity proof. It is, therefore, necessary for UIDAI to announce this because banks use biometric eKYC to on- board customers and when Aadhar card is not a valid proof they might have to ask for another document for address proof despite biometric eKYC.It is clearly not a proof of citizenship: but it is widely used to apply for a passport or other documents which are, in fact, illegal and lethal.
From the passport website:Furnishing of Aadhaar card will expedite processing of passport applications.Aadhaar letter/card or the e- Aadhaar (an electronically generated letter from the website of UIDAI), as the case may be, will be accepted as Proof of Address (POA) and Proof of Photo-Identity (POI) for availing passport related services. Acceptance of Aadhaar as PoA and PoI would be subject to successful validation with Aadhaar database.
One can easily take print out of their Aadhar card as many times as they want and have multiple copies. Aadhar card doesn’t have any hologram

or any other such feature on it which makes it unfit as a valid identity proof alone. The validation of Aadhar card used either at passports as an identity proof or anywhere else is to be done via sending an
OTP which is a process that would take so long to verify each and every user and hence is never adopted although suggested. Basically if not verified via OTP Aadhar card is a just another piece of paper with your name, photo and address on it.Moreover, UIDAI has given a black and white copy of Aadhar card equal validity and importance as the colour original one, in case if someone loses their Aadhar card.
Considering the fact that illegal procurement of Aadhar card is not only a child's play but widely accepted and with full validation is a shocking reality and the somebody has to bell the cat sooner than later. Before the government makes Aadhar card mandatory for any more schemes or acquiring any other means of identification the officials must give another thought to the step. Maybe they can start with eradicating all the flaws and ensure full proof security or else the talks about insecure digitisation in India are always round the corner.

Aadhar is the key to an individual's citizenship.   In the past few years ,aadhar had been considered as an important proof of identification. It had been considered as one of the most reliable source of information about an individual as it gives the necessary details like phone number, address, photo, bank account number and other demographic and biometrical information.

Although Aadhar gives the most information of an individual it must be noted that the details are limited to its boundaries. For example,it provides the bank account balance but not the transactions details of every customer. In fact, it helps to avail the government welfare schemes like pension which  will directly be credited to the account. The aadhar must be linked to pan card,  voter id,ration card and mobile number. By doing so,it prevents the duplication of the pan card and also eliminates the circulation of black money. Therefore,it only keeps a check on the regular income tax paid .Voter id must be linked so as to avoid  duplication and therefore clearing the voting system. This does not give the details about the party voted by the candidate. The ration card is only used to keep a track of the ration and avoid its misuse. On the whole, the basic idea of an Aadhar card is to acquire the maximum details about the individual only to prevent the duplicate and mishandling of the accounts. It acts as a reminder for pan cards,a voting right which the individual holds, a budgeted for the ration throughout the year and the messenger for the ammendents to the card through mobile phones. It affects the privacy to the extent of knowledge of the person and not in the decision making or the family related matters. It also acts as an agent to reduce corruption. It give the clarity of the person in fulfilling his duties towards the country and  not his character. It does give out the personal information like the family members, friends, business customers, etc. It must also be noted that an Aadhar integrates tye various other proofs and therefore making it easy to handle and thereby making the best use of it.
Thus,it must be concluded that aadhar is the gift wrap of a gift box .It  gives only the outer view of an individual. Aadhar does not breach the privacy of an individual. It is the  financial and social virtual manager.
