MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL

 

VIEW
The irony here is that we use money to buy food, clothes and so on and yet we are still not satisfied. The greed caused by the want for money is toxic and damaging. Man is a wanting animal and even as he reaches a certain level of wealth, he still remains dissatisfied, wanting more. Money causes spiritual damage and the mind is constantly racing, finding it harder to be at peace. People believe that money is directly proportional to happiness. There are many alternatives to money. Money causes family damage: many closely knit families have fallen apart due to this unnecessary evil. It causes jealousy and suspicion. If money was such a good thing then it would serve the people but instead, people serve it. Money can be a good thing but who's really in control? Exactly how much control do you have over your own life when all you do is serve pieces of paper and the system that relies on it?
Money determines social status. People with more money are treated in a better manner and perceived in a better way. This is the bitter truth. Children cannot chose the house they are born in, else they would be treated differently depending on the status of the house they are born in. If there was no money (such as in the case of communism), the lack of it would not adversely affect anyone. All the fears you refer to only exist because we need 'money' to buy things. However, if there was no money and resources were distributed freely and equally, there would be no need for petty cash or any liquid monetary equivalents. The desperation and greed caused by unlimited wants, unequal distribution of resources and a restrictive means (money) of getting anything would be nonexistent. Money is the ultimate cause of stress, frustration, anger, rage and thus all crime. 'Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely'[Lord Acton] Money is power.

“Money is the root of all evil” A statement that could not be more incorrect. Not money itself, but the love for money is a problem. There’s a key distinction. Money itself is neither good nor evil. It is simply a medium of exchange. It is a way for people to trade. What you choose to use your money for may be good, evil or just a missed opportunity. You could use it to make sure your children eat a nutritionally balanced meal or to hire a hit man to take out your rivals. You could use it to help improve orphanages for extremely impoverished children or burn a lakh just for the fun of it. How you use that money is a reflection of who you are and what you value. Whether it is “good” or “evil” is as much your own judgment on how you spend money as it is a judgment passed on you by others who observe how you use it. When you see other people as merely things that can be exploited to improve your wealth accumulation, this is evil. Companies that consciously sell toys to children that are covered in lead-based paint are evil. Companies that consciously sell carcinogens for consumption without clear labels are evil. Individuals who exploit and steal from the defenseless are evil. In the end, it all comes back to your ethics and character. It takes a bad person to intentionally exploit others.
Without money there would be no development towards betterment. Money can be used for a good cause (donations). Money is not the root of all evil because certain wrong doings have nothing to do with money. Money represents positive values. Money is made by effort of muscle, willpower, and intellect. Money is the end product and acts as a motivating force.

RESERVATIONS

VIEW
The system of reservation in India is applicable to various aspects of the society, which include reservation of seats in educational institutions, in government jobs, and to secure seats in the legislatures. The system was established to provide support to the disadvantaged castes and tribes, listed as Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (SCs and STs) by the Government of India and also those designated as Other Backwards Classes (OBCs). Their main aim is to address the historic oppression, inequality and discrimination faced by these communities and to give them equal opportunities. The allocation of seats to the Lok Sabha is made on the basis of the proportion of these communities in the respective states concerned to that of the total population.
In India, scholarships or financial aid is provided to the students of SCs, STs, OBCs, women, Muslims, and other minorities, given the grossly inadequate representation of the above mentioned categories in employment and education due to various social and cultural reasons.

Reservations are the biggest enemy of meritocracy. By providing reservation, we are not only doing injustice to the merit based education system, which is the foundation in many progressive countries but are also depriving the citizens belonging to the general category of their chances to secure seats in educational institutions and places of work. As important as it is to bring a sense of equity into the society, implementing a reservation system is not the solution. Instead, financial aid can be provided to those who most need it. The top institutions of today which include the IIM’s and the IIT’s have managed to maintain their reputations as a result of the merit based system.
The notion of caste based reservation only fuels social discrimination in the society rather than bring about its eradication, as envisaged by the constitution. Reservation has been reduced as a means to meet narrow political ideas.
In conclusion, I would like to say that we should not encourage reservation of any kind, be it in jobs or admissions. Whenever we reserve a place for someone on these bases, we are snatching away the rights from other deserving candidates. The economically backward members of our society should be provided with free education as part of various government policies and programs or be tested on various grounds to select the most deserving rather than have seats reserved for them. The government should make amends to provide free primary and secondary education.

AMBITION BREEDS RUIN

Ambition is what drives people but it leads to jealousy, greed and, hatred. The side effect of excessive ambition is focusing on one particular vision or goal, for example, if you set out to make 7 crores INR by the time you’re 30, everything that doesn’t immediately appear to get closer to that goal may appear useless to you. That goal by the age of 30 makes you less satisfied with your life journey. Excessive ambition can make you overly eager to grow and turns you into an uncontrollable person, which could ultimately ruin your business, family, love.

            We all know that uncontrolled and excessive fast growth can ruin a business. When you grow too quickly, you end up spending money recklessly.  For ambitious entrepreneurs, a failure is seen as devastating, and impossible to recover from.  Being excessively ambitious  makes a person selfish and it drives you to pursue egocentric goals at the expense of your family, friends and, community.

            Ambitious people crave accomplishments, that means they want more recognition, power and, growth.  And usually willing to take more risks and spend more effort to get there. Extreme ambition may end up doing more harm than good. Thus a person who is overwhelmingly ambitious will develop dangerous side effects.

             Yes, excessive ambition is not good for a person.  Excessive ambition is dangerous.  It will be putting you at risk of burnout, stubbornness and even a shorter life.

Being ambitious is very important.  An ambitious person does not give rise to jealousy, greed, hatred. They are ambitious because of their goal. It is true that ambition overdrives humane feelings-success at whatever cost, “whatever” doesn’t necessarily have to be in a bad manner, it also means hard work. I don’t agree with the idea that ambitious people don’t give more time to family, love, charity. In fact, people give more time to their families because it is the apex. Most people try their best to manage every aspect of their lives in a balanced way.

            Ambition overrides humane feelings, that is, success at whatever cost but whatever cost doesn't mean bad way always.  It also means hard work.  Persons who have an ambition in life have peace in their success and progress.  The person feels satisfied when he achieves his goal.  Therefore being ambitious is essential for being successful in life.

               Ambition works as a stimulating agent and it gives direction to work. Thinking that it spreads jealousy and hatred is just a negative mindset. Ambitious people strive hard to achieve their goals. Failure is a stepping stone and not a slippery one. Keeping Ambitions high is humane. The true ambitious person will have a positive approach. Such persons will fulfill their ambitions with strenuous efforts without hurting others.

              Clearly, ambition is good for your motivation. Without any ambition, you wouldn't study entrepreneurship, set or achieve goals and get very far in life.

INTERNET OF THINGS

The Internet of Things network benefits not one but all, i.e.,
individuals, stakeholders of businesses, society, etc., due to
the fact that the Internet of things network is time and money
efficient. Internet of Things systems deliver faster and
accurately with minimum utilization of energy. This improves
quality of life. It aids in patient monitoring, i.e., numerous
types of wireless sensors are installed on the patient body
which communicate with the Internet of Things network and
produce all the required information regarding the patient
under treatment.

Internet of Things concept is employed in home security
gadgets which are controlled and monitored, may it be locally
or remotely, using easy-to-use application software available
on mobile phones or smartphones. Typical Internet of Things
devices popularly used in home automation environment
include sensors, security alarms, door locks, cameras, etc.
Internet of Things is serviceable in inventory control, asset
and individual tracking, shipping, energy conservation, etc. It
is similar to M2M but it has applications beyond M2M. M2M
is used only for machine to machine communication whereas
in the Internet of Things, things communicate themselves to its

possessor indicating its location and conditions.

As the Internet of things is managed and run by multiple
technologies, multiple vendors are involved in it. Due to this
fact, privacy is a concern. Security algorithms and certain
precautions by the users will help avoid any security related
threats in the Internet of Things network.
Implementation of the Internet of Things leads to loss of jobs for
unskilled employees who lack the knowledge and capability to
cope with the latest trends in hardware and software
domains. This can happen in jobs related to inventory control
and automated machines such as ATM or check-in/check-out
machines.
The Internet of Things consists of multiple technologies whose
architectures differ from one another. This makes the Internet of

Things network a very complex system. Due to this fact,
failure in the Internet of Things network may lead to more
time for restoration of the service to consumers. Therefore,
skilled workers proficient in knowledge of multiple
technologies are required. Hence, the Internet of Things service
provider should pay exorbitant prices to hire and retain such
qualified employees.
As there are innumerous vendor devices involved in the
Internet of Things network, it requires interoperability tests to
be conducted prior to launching the Internet of Things system
for use. This will incur costs for the manufacturers and
network service providers of the Internet of Things.
It will take some time for the Internet of Things system to become
completely stable as there are new and upcoming standards
being integrated in the Internet of Things system. Common
Internet of Things architecture will help in this regard.

UNIFORMS IN COLLEGES

                                

       A lot of discussions and debates are done to impose uniforms in colleges. Here are few views and counterviews on the same.

VIEW:

Uniforms in college has been proven to have a positive impact on students and teachers on campus. The environment becomes less competitive and helps the students focus more on learning. Uniforms creates a sense of belongingness to the institution which takes away the primary fear of every first year student; the requirement to fit in. The more unified the students become, the more excited everyone is to stand up for the community.

The safety factor is taken care of as it is easier to identify a miscreant or an individual who is not a part of the institution. Trespassers can be found and handed over to the authority with ease. There will be no argument of what to wear and it makes mornings easier when there isn’t a need to worry about how a different outfit is going to look. Uniforms are time efficient as it eliminates the everyday it becomes cost effective as it gives each student a set price and a budget. For the institution as well, it poses as an advantage considering buying in bulk creates a discount.

Uniforms in college encourage students to express themselves through other platforms than clothing. It encourages self-expression through forums like art, music, academics, etc.

COUNTER VIEW:

Uniform may have a positive effect on teachers but not on student. Any college going student would choose to learn in the clothes they are comfortable in and not in a uniform in which they are restless and uncomfortable. College is about improving every part of your personality and learning is only a small aspect in college life. Choosing the clothes you wear helps you learn more about your personality and your likes and dislikes.

We don’t see multinational companies handing out uniforms to make their employees feel a certain feeling of belongingness. They look at the achievements of the individual and what they have done for the company. Instead of focusing on what the students of the college should wear, the student should feel a sense of belongingness to the college by achieving feats for their college and that feel triumphs the feel of wearing a uniform.

Wearing a uniform does not necessarily make it easy for identifying who is part of the institution or not. We are talking about the safety and identification of students of a particular institution, in an emergency. In this day and age, anything can be acquired. It holds same for uniform. A uniform does not exactly help in the safety of a student, as any miscreant can acquire the uniform and enter the institution with no questions asked.

The truth about uniform is actually the opposite as every student would at most have 3 pairs of uniforms for every week. So, what a uniform actually does is that its wastes time by having to wash it, iron it and fold it. Not only that, a uniform takes time to prepare. In this amount of time a student could focus their attention on their hobbies, work and studies.

Buying a uniform to be cost effective would actually be very expensive. For a new academic year, a student coming from an unstable financial background would have to pay the fees. On top of that they would have to pay extra money for their pairs of uniform which would be a financial inconvenience for them. This student would rather wear the clothes they already have rather than spend more money on clothes.

A person must never feel that he is less efficient just due to his appearance. Uniform can never be applied in the outside world of college. If there is no uniform in college he will be able to face the outside world too as he will already learn it inside college.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF DEMONETIZATION

VIEW:
Demonetization resulted in the decline of India’s GDP by 2 percent, unemployment, and various other issues, but still few are some of the important achievements of demonetization, I would like to highlight:  100% fake currency out of circulation in one stroke!  This is probably one of the greatest change that is taking place.
Cash to create chaos and terror lying with terrorists, Maoists, Naxalites, Jihadis went waste! Hawala sources dried up for  funding of terrorists, Maoists, Naxalites, conversion lobby, and Jihadis.{biggest advantage to Kashmir}
All jewelers are being issued forms to declare their GOLD stock on a day to day basis!  Defaulters of the bank, property tax, electricity bills, telecom bills are clearing their long pending bills.  Defaulters of all kind of taxes are clearing their dues!
Small vendors started going digital and already using APPS, digital forms of transactions and digital wallets!  The fiscal deficit of India set to reduce, due to cash received by RBI Reduction or parallel economy and increase of cash fewer transactions will help in reducing the tax evaders and hence result in swelling of revenue coffers of the government.
Technology has the power to change our lives and it will play a major role in elevating the poor from their current situation.  Increase in tax revenue will help the government to provide loans at a much-reduced rate of interest.

COUNTERVIEW:

The biggest disadvantage of demonetization has been the chaos and frenzy it created among common people initially.  Everyone was rushing to get rid of demonetized notes while the inadequate supply of new notes affected the day to day budgets of citizens.  Bank sand ATMs witnessed long queues while small businesses suffered temporary financial losses.  The situation was even worse in rural India where people struggled to exchange and withdraw cash due to lack of enough number of banks and ATM’s in their vicinity.
The destruction of old currency units and the printing of new currency units involve costs which have to be borne by the government and if the costs are higher than benefits then there is no use of demonetization.
This move basically targeted the black money, but many people who had not kept cash as their black money and rotated or used that money in other asset classes like real estate, gold and soon were not affected by demonetization.  It turned out that more than 99% of demonetized currency came back to the RBI and was accounted for.  Therefore, the government’s claim about black money fell on its face.
The lack of awareness about the Demonetization in the rural places caused a lot of loss to the people who did not know about the whole thing as it took place in a very short span of time.  Due to this a lot of people who did not have access to mass media could not get their money exchanged.  Thus all their hard earned money was left worthless and their hearts filled with sorrow.

“School uniforms must be mandatory”

VIEW
School uniforms must be made mandatory for students.
As the word says, they create uniformity and a sense of equality. Uniforms eradicate peer pressure to wear the latest, expensive gear. Therefore, the students will not be bullied and judged based on their appearance.
When there is a uniform in place, students will not waste time in the morning deciding what to wear. Most students tend to spend a lot of time determining what wear so that they look ‘nice’. This should not be the mentality. A student’s primarily focus should be on their studies rather than their clothes.
By dressing everyone the same, the focus is shifted away from appearance and back to their academics.
Schools defend compulsory uniforms on the grounds that they improve behaviour, build spirit, develop a student’s sense of belonging and define the school’s identity in the community.
Maintaining control and dignity in school is essential. The character and mentality of the student is formed during this period which makes it extremely important to keep them under a watchful eye. When in uniforms, students get a feeling of being under a strict provision which in turn makes them pay attention to their studies, do their homework regularly and build better friendships.
There is no break from the casual clothes battle during the summer holidays, so the students are relieved of not having to lay out a predetermined outfit every day when they return to school. Therefore, the main worry of the student can be focused on his/her educational achievements, rather than what to wear or how to look.

School uniforms should not be made mandatory for students. The reasons behind making uniforms mandatory in schools is for safety, recognition and standardization. However, there is no positive correlation between wearing uniforms and academic achievement.
In place of uniforms, a dress code can be set to give the students the freedom of choice and a sense of responsibility. When a person is comfortable in what they wear, their confidence level automatically increases. This results in a corresponding rise in their performance levels.
Uniforms can have a negative effect on a student’s self-image. They fit the students differently, thereby affecting those who are not too confident about their body structures, leading to a dip in their self-esteem levels.
Instead of making ’what the students wear’ a topic of discussion, the focus must be on respecting everyone's expressions whether it is their opinion or their style. Uniforms promote conformity not individuality.
Many a time, students are not in the financial position to afford uniforms. When uniforms are not compulsory, the burden is lifted and they can choose to invest that same money in other areas of concern.
It brings down the creativity, responsibility and freedom of the students. It increases pressure on financially dependent students and reduces the importance of actual understanding. In conclusion, clothes should not define your personality and hence, uniforms must not be mandatory.
